Hurricane Gustav. Run away! Run away!

Well, this weekend turned out to be a lot different than last weekend. Like others who lived in New Orleans through Katrina, when a mandatory evacution was called for Hurricane Gustav - I hit the road! After 19 hours on the road, I reached safe haven in the Applachian Mountains. The first 6 hours were spent in traffic on I-10 East - all in New Orleans. It was crazy, but it was good to see so many people heeded warnings.

New Orleans was not hard hit by this storm. The mayor is expected to announce when residents may return to the city. Other parts of Louisiana were not so lucky. To the people living there, I truly wish the best of luck.

Needless to say, there haven't been a lot of updates around here. I'll make sure to rectify that directly. It may be intermittant for a while, but will return to full status upon my return home.
