Lost Boys: The Trash

Does anybody really give a shit about the "Lost Boys" sequel? Seriously, where did this thing come from? You don't hear anything about the movie for twenty years. Then there's a "reality" show about the two Coreys and all of a sudden - there's a direct to video release of "Lost Boys:The Tribe." Which amazingly sounds like a nod to another "reality" show. Ugh.

Before I get too far into this, I think you should understand where I'm coming from. I am a fan of the original movie. I bought the DVD and a CD of the soundtrack. I enjoy a regular intake of both. But, as usual, there are things I don't like about the flick.

I didn't like the Frog brothers at all. Corey Feldman's gravelly voiced, know-it-all Edgar Frog was ridiculous. The fact that these two idiots could provoke the superhuman vampires and still live was the major aggravation of the movie. And Sam Emerson, he was just a douche bag, but every movie needs a villain. C'mon, a guy with a poster of Rob Lowe in his room. Please!

Sidenote: I don't hate Corey Feldman. He's been in some classic flicks. I hate Edgar Frog. There is a difference. Even though Feldman allows himself to be part of the reference - "Haimster and Feldog." What the fuck?

The main point I'm trying to make is that we support a movie we enjoy, and get rewarded with a video that appears to have been thrown together on a whim. Those Corey guys are making a comeback, let's cash in on it! It doesn't matter if we cut the one no one can remember out or not. Huzzah!

I think I'll pass. It all seems a bit too convenient for me. That, and they didn't bring back any of the real talent from the first one. Are you telling me they couldn't find Bill S. Preston, Esq?

Oh the Inhumanity!

What is with remakes and sequels? Can't a good movie just end? I agree that this is a cheap ploy and will not even add it to my netflicks queue. Is Bill S. Preston, esq. still alive?
